Views on Dentistry

"As a hygienist, I really enjoy the preventative aspects of dentistry such as routine prophys and sealants. I also like scaling and root planing for patients that need periodontal therapy for periodontal disease. As a hygienist, I appreciate the relationships we make with the patients we see regularly. This really makes my job enjoyable! I feel that we help people by not only providing them with excellent dental care, but by helping them to gain the self confidence that a beautiful smile can give."

Lollie Lenker, R.D.H.

Lollie grew up in Blackwell, OK. She attended the Rose State College of Hygiene and obtained her Dental Hygiene degree there. She has worked as a full time hygienist as well as temporary fill-in hygienist for many offices in the past and thus has gained a very broad base of experience from many office settings.

Views on Dentistry

"I like working in the field of dentistry because of the patients. It is interesting to meet so many different people, all with different needs. It is exciting to see a patient start and finish their dental treatment. It is a very rewarding feeling for our dental team and also for the patient. I am especially interested in the periodontal health of the mouth. I think of the gums and bone support as the foundation for the teeth. The most valuable contribution we make to our patients in a dental office is education. By teaching patients about proper care and maintenance it allows them to take charge of their own health."

Cosette Pruitt (Office Manager)

Cosette grew up in Oklahoma City. She has a good amount of business experience having worked in banking as well as helping her family run their family business the famous Coit’s Drive-ins. She has helped us greatly at Herndon Family Dentistry for over 12 years now. She also claims to have the highest empathy for the "dental chicken" around in that she considered herself to be the biggest one around when she was a child.

Views on Dentistry

"Poor dental health touches all aspects of our lives from children to adults. It is very rewarding to see someone leaving our office no longer in pain and on the road to good hygiene and function. Having been afraid of dentistry as a young person, it is great to be able to help others get over their fears and see them continue to return for routine dental checkups. Even after twelve years, every day has a new challenge and new people to meet. It is amazing the advances in dentistry in that amount of time. We stay on the cutting edge with the most up to date techniques."

Angela Stroud (Dental Assistant)

Angela (Angie) grew up in the Purcell area. She has been a dental assistant at our office for over nine years. She has been a very positive influence for our office during that time with her strong desire to learn and her cheerful disposition.

Views on Dentistry

"Dentistry gives me a feeling of purpose and accomplishment! We give our patients time and consideration. We want to treat our patients with the same respect that we would want to be treated with. Healthy teeth are a must for everyone!"

Glenda Lee (Dental Assistant)

Glenda grew up in Northeast Oklahoma next to the Arkansas border. She has been with us for over five years. She also has a great deal of experience as a beautician so she is great at working with people. We are very blessed to have not only her working at our office but also her two daughters Kristen and Shayla doing a multitude of behind the scenes work for us. Glenda also does some work for us on the front side of the office.

Views on Dentistry

"Every day in our office is something different. This keeps life very interesting at the office. We touch every age of peoples’ lives. We often see every family member and watch their children grow up. We educate our patients in how to better take care of their teeth. This makes a difference in the quality of life for our patients. This office touches many lives every day and I think as a team we strive to help make our community a great place to live!"

Kristin Bright (Dental Assistant)

Kristen Bright was born and raised in Protection Kansas. She is proud to say that she is the only member of our staff to have killed and skinned a Kansas buck. She adds a happy, bright charm to our staff that we all appreciate. She has been with us for over two years.

Views on Dentistry

"I love my job. There is a large variety of things that I get to do. I enjoy helping the patients and am very proud of what we do here. Dentistry is a field in which you continually learn because the technology is always advancing. Many people do not realize how much their mouths affect how they feel. When we can fix a person’s teeth and make them feel better, as well as raise their self esteem, it makes us feel great as well."
